Synopsis

Until the day I met John Smith, Number Four, I’d been on the run alone, hiding and fighting to stay alive.

Together, we are much more powerful. But it could only last so long before we had to separate to find the others. . . .

I went to Spain to find Seven, and I found even more, including a tenth member of the Garde who escaped from Lorien alive. Ella is younger than the rest of us, but just as brave. Now we’re looking for the others–including John.

But so are they.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They caught me in New York–but I escaped.
I am Number Six.
They want to finish what they started.
But they’ll have to fight us first.

Review

The moment this book was released, I ran to the nearest bookstore and grabbed myself a copy. It had been an agonizing wait for this novel—I seriously wanted to jump into the story and start kicking some Mogadorian ass. And I have to admit that this series never fails to leave me breathless.

The Rise of Nine is the third book in the best-selling Lorien Legacies series by Pittacus Lore. The story continues after the big battle in “The Power of Six” both in Spain and in America. Six is with Marina (Seven), Ella (ten), and Crayton(Ella’s Cepan). They are on plane going to India. Apparently Crayton has heard of a powerful being there and he thinks it’s a member of the Garde. Back in America, John Smith is with Nine and they have their own journey to go through. John is still devastated at having to leave his best friend Sam behind but he had no choice. He hates to admit it but Nine was right, if he came back for him, he’ll surely be dead. The main story line is the members of the Garde all trying to get together. There is non stop fighting, nonstop suspense, and nonstop humor. (Nine was a pretty funny character) And of course, there’s the exciting discovery of a new member of the Garde 😉

This is what I call a REALLY good book. The kind that keeps you on the edge of your seat and it seems like you can’t turn the pages fast enough. The book is so action packed I could hardly keep my eyes from reading and I was totally engrossed with each scene and situation. Whenever I tell myself: “Okay. After this chapter, I’ll stop.” I end up reading five more chapters! Until, BOOM! I finished it! This book is full of endless surprises and twists. It’s one of the most thrilling rides I’ve ever gotten into.

I was hooked from the very first page to the last. Pittacus Lore seems to have stepped up the book real high! The structure and technical elements of the book was great. Each scene was described perfectly, the dialogue was smart and witty, and the narration was just fluid. The characters were also amazing! Each of them has their own fun and lovable characteristics. (I can’t help falling for Nine’s bad-ass but sensitive attitude. <3)  I simply can’t wait for their next adventure. It’s time for the Garde to come together and fight!

Oh man…another agonizingly long wait 😦 But I know it’ll totally be worth it. 😉

Rating 5!!!!
